"The best in the world aren't the best because they never lose — they're the best because they never waste the chance to learn from a loss."
As someone born and raised in Las Vegas, the thought of working in venture capital wasn't on my radar, mostly because I had no idea what it was.
I’ve been a huge sports fan for as long as I remember. In 2016, I read an article about Kobe Bryant retiring from basketball and jumping into venture capital—my first real exposure to what venture capital and technology investing were. Learning how investors partnered with founders to help build companies immediately piqued my curiosity. As I dug deeper, I became increasingly drawn to the idea of one day playing a small role in building the next generation of technology companies. From that moment on, investing in and working alongside founders across the lifecycle of their companies has remained my dream job.
My first job out of college was at Morgan Stanley’s Menlo Park office, where I was fortunate to work with some of the world’s fastest-growing software and consumer internet companies. I then joined M12, Microsoft’s venture capital fund, where I had a front-row seat to OpenAI’s viral ChatGPT-3.5 release and the explosion of AI companies that followed.
Now at Peak XV, I’m excited to partner with the world’s most ambitious founders as they build the next great technology companies, regardless of stage, vertical, or geography.
