Reflecting on my journey, I can sum it up in three words: "I feel lucky." Born to a 15-year-old single mother, I faced significant challenges early on, but I always felt I could choose a different path than the one that was laid out before me.

Education became my gateway. In fact, I was the first in my family to attend college; thus, breaking a cycle of poverty. While I lacked formal mentorship, I found my purpose in recruiting and developing others and I quickly fell in love with the impact of this work. Recruiting is a powerful lever that improves lives—helping candidates find growth and better cultures while providing founders with the essential talent to scale their visions. 

In 2010, I joined Sequoia Capital, fueled by the prospect of bridging the gap between founders and talent. Over the next decade, that passion only grew as I rose to lead the global talent team. In that role, I supported CEOs from early-to-growth stages and spearheaded the development of proprietary talent software.

Today, as part of Peak XV, my mission remains the same. Venture talent provides an incredible platform to empower a global network, and I am as excited as ever to continue supporting the next generation of founders.
