Company: BabyMD
Launched: January 2024

BabyMD is a full-stack pediatric service, complete with primary-care offline clinics that are supplemented with 24×7 AI-assisted access to a team of doctors, and a focus on low-penetrated specialties for holistic child development, including  behavioral health.

Parents often find themselves in a uniquely distressing situation – they want to have the best healthcare for their children, but don’t know where to begin. Those who try using the internet or their local social network to resolve queries about their child’s healthcare often end up unsure of whether they are acting on reliable, medically validated advice. Even if they shortlist a specialist, appointments are hard to come by when needed. Owing to how things are currently set up, parents can’t tap into the system to ask experts queries as and when required.

By addressing these problems, BabyMD aims to be a partner in parenting and  gives parents easy round-the-clock access to qualified medical professionals across channels. The company’s goal is to create a future where parents don’t have to navigate through multiple avenues for their child’s healthcare needs and instead find everything they require under one roof.

Headquartered in Bengaluru, Deeksha Senguttuvan and Hrishikesh Thite launched BabyMD in January 2024.

Deeksha recognized the need for BabyMD through first-hand experience in the healthcare sector. She has previously worked with Kauvery Hospitals to help shape the company’s digital footprint, and was also part of a leadership development program at the Tata Group of companies. An engineer from the National Institute of Technology, Tiruchirappalli, Deeksha also attended the Indian Institute of Management, Kozhikode. She also holds an MBA from The Wharton School.

Hrishikesh is an electrical engineer by trade and holds an MBA from IIM Calcutta. He was a consultant at BCG and held leadership positions in digital-first players like Flipkart, Udaan, Unacademy, and HealthifyMe.
