“For me, ‘change is the way of life.’ It creates opportunity and fuels progress. Stay resilient, adapt with purpose, and achieve outcomes that matter.”
I spent much of my teens on the cricket field. At home, there were constant debates about what I was going to do with my life. Eventually, my father let me choose my own path, and that’s when I realized that conviction and clarity matter but so does the responsibility that comes with them. I chose finance, and immersed myself in it completely. Outcomes surprise you when you commit fully and go all in.
I joined an insurance company as an early employee when there were virtually no challenger brands in the sector, and helped scale business into a multi billion dollar revenue. Over five years, I learned what it takes to build from scratch.
Later, I moved into a strategic business role at a credit card company in rocketship mode. Just over a year later, the global financial crisis hit. It was trial by fire. We had to cut burn, slash spends, and focus sharply on the customers we wanted to serve. That journey back to profitability taught me how to navigate massive change but with discipline and resilience.
A few years later, I moved into a Chief Risk Officer role. I was the first non-appointed actuary to hold this position in the Indian life insurance industry at the time, but I embraced the opportunity to build a new area of expertise.
I later joined Sequoia India, now Peak XV Partners, stepping into an entirely new industry and learning from the ground up. Today, I work with founders and leadership teams navigating moments of scale and transformation.
The common thread throughout my career has been helping businesses turn ambition into execution and change into enduring value.
