Sahiba Gambhir Agarwal

I grew up in Delhi, in a family that brought me up with more than what could be afforded. My dad came from a small town and built a life in the city from scratch. His hard work, perseverance, and ambition led him to become an established professional in finance and business. He always encouraged me to become an independent person and embrace success with utmost humility and grace.

I qualified as a chartered accountant and then followed that with an MBA. Consulting with Deloitte gave me an in-depth understanding of nuances across retail and TMT (Telecom, Media, Tech). When I got the offer from Sequoia India, I rejoiced and panicked all at once; rejoiced at the opportunity to work in such a dynamic sector and the exhilarating ride that awaited – and panicked at the thought of living up to expectations. I quickly found my footing because of the trust and respect that the team and the partners placed in me.

What truly stands out for me is the pedigree of the people one gets to interact with –  from long-standing industry doyens to young and dynamic founders in emerging sectors. It is both humbling and exciting to be a part of this journey.
