“Work hard, be kind and stay humble.”
Backstory
I grew up in a small, close-knit family in Vadodara, Gujarat. I was the kind of kid who genuinely enjoyed academics and loved learning for its own sake. Outside of school, I spent hours pursuing creative projects: papier mâché art, painting murals, even experimenting with early digital design. Over time, though, art took a backseat.
I was determined to build a life of financial independence and explore the world. I wasn’t afraid to explore different avenues before finding my true calling. I dabbled in science, considered chartered accountancy, and eventually found my way to corporate law. There was something about the structure and tangible impact of legal work that resonated with me.
Law school led me to London for a year to pursue a master’s in financial law, and later to the law firm of Shardul Amarchand Mangaldas, where I had the opportunity to contribute to several high-impact deals and public offerings.
Life shifted when I married my childhood friend and moved to California. Those early years in the US were humbling—building a career from the ground up in a new country without a professional network wasn’t easy. But hard work, perseverance and faith in myself eventually opened doors. I established myself as an in-house counsel and worked with companies like Intuit and Pinterest.
After 11 years in Silicon Valley and two kids, we moved back to India to be closer to family. That transition led me to Peak XV, in a role that was new and challenging but yet familiar. Here, I get to draw on my experience across Indian and US regulatory frameworks, working on everything from regulatory compliance to policy strategy. Even more importantly, I found a work culture that mirrors my own values: one that prioritizes integrity, collaboration, and long-term growth.
Looking back, each chapter, each pivot, has shaped the person I am today. And I’m excited to be part of Peak XV and for everything that lies ahead.
