“Talent, technology, and tenacity. When they converge, they create companies that redefine entire industries.”
Growing up in a middle-class family in Bombay, my foundation was built on hard work, integrity, and deep empathy—a trait heavily influenced by my mother, a clinical psychologist. Over a 20-year venture capital career spanning Sequoia Capital and Peak XV, I’ve carried these values into early partnerships with some of India’s most defining startups.
Before returning home, I spent 10 terrific years in the US learning the ropes, which included the grounding, invaluable experience of building a failed startup. Today, I see India’s nascent sectors—particularly across Consumer, AI and HealthTech—as vast white spaces waiting for bold entrepreneurs to disrupt the status quo.
When choosing who to partner with, I look for founders with audacious ambition, clarity of thought, and the rare ability to both lead and be led. Because the startup journey is a long marathon of highs and lows, I value high-trust, authentic relationships above all else. For me, the ultimate win isn't just IPOs and returns—it’s the lifelong relationships forged along the way.
Outside of work, I embrace living life fully—whether that means climbing mountains, playing sports, venture philanthropy via ACT Grants, or simply being a dedicated family man.
